Mom’s Flat Apple Pie: The Crispy, Sheet-Pan Classic
The Ingredients
For the Crust:
- 3 cups All-purpose flour
- 1 cup Shortening or cold butter, cubed
- 1 tsp Salt
- 1 Egg yolk (beaten with enough milk to make 2/3 cup)
- 1 cup Cornflakes, crushed (the secret to keeping the bottom crust crispy!)
For the Filling:
